The municipality of Larvik

Administration
There are  40 000 people in the town and to serve both them and all our visitors we are 2600 employees.

The District:
"All roads lead to Larvik".
The town is a communication center for the southern part of Eastern Norway. There are daily ferry connections to and from Denmark, train connections to and from Oslo and further to Gardermoen international airport. It is 25 minutes journey by car to Torp international ariport. Rv 40 leads one through Numedalen, then on to the mountains or from the mountains down to the coast. The highway, E18, runs behind the town and leads alternatively south to Kristiansand or north to Oslo. For those who come by sea, there are five guest harbours to choose from.

Along the coast lies the little town of Stavern and the small boat harbours of Kjerringvik, Ula, Nevlunghavn and Helgeroa, each with it's own special charm. Our green valley - Lågendalen (Lågen Valley) - lies lush and beautiful with it's well preserved traditions, salmon fishing and rich animal life. We are proud of our community and look forward to sharing our "pearls" with you!

In the Larvik district you will find just about everything.
